Unchartered Educational Network assists in creating and implementing comprehensive oversight systems that establish clear, transparent expectations for schools and holds them accountable for action. U.E.N. accountability systems set expectations for what it means to be a good school. Accountability systems have two closely related parts. The first is a way of signaling how well schools are doing and the second is actions that must result from those ratings, which include, resources, supports, and interventions for those areas that are falling short.
School accountability systems serve many purposes, including sharing information, measuring progress toward state and local goals, and supporting greater educational equity. Given the important role accountability systems play in states’ education systems, Unchartered Educational Network helps schools to improve upon their existing systems, by taking what is in the law and creating a functioning and dynamic system in a relatively short amount of time.
